On June 15 and 16, 2023, the creation of the CLARIAH-ES infrastructure is celebrated in Alicante, which will allow Spain and its research centers to integrate into the ERIC European research infrastructures together with others 20 EU Member States.

The objective of the meeting is to sign the collaboration framework of the 10 representatives: University of the Basque Country, University of Santiago de Compostela, University of Alicante, National University of Distance Education, Barcelona Supercomputing Center-National Supercomputing Center, Complutense University of Madrid,  University of Jaén, Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), National Library of Spain and the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canarias through the University Institute of Textual Analysis and Applications.

Researchers from the Spanish department of the National University of Odessa (Ukraine) Tetyana Kolbayenkova and Anastasiia Semikova have joined the University Institute of Textual Analysis and Applications of the ULPGC , within a collaboration program between the Social Council of the ULPGC, the Canarian Agency for Research, Innovation and Information Society of the Government of the Canary Islands, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, through the Embassy of Spain in Ukraine, and the Canarian Association of Startups, Technology-Based Companies and Angel Investors (EMERGE).

During the next three months, these researchers will participate in the activities organized by IATEXT and will join research carried out by the Institute in the field of teaching Spanish as a second language and discourse analysis.

Doctor and member of the Division of Corspus Studies and Applied Linguistics, Cristina Alfonzo de Tovar will participate next Wednesday, May 24, 2023 in the Series of Conferences entitled Languages ​​and learning: interdisciplinary perspectives to be held at the University of Aveiro-Portugal. 

Ms. Cristina Alfonzo de Tovar will give the conference "Intercultural mediation in the foreign language classroom".

This activity is organized by the Center for Research on Languages, Literatures and Cultures of that University in collaboration with IATEXT. 

Predoctoral researcher and member of the Division Documentation, Heritage and Atlantic History of IATEXT, Nira Santana Montañez has published a chapter called "Precarious lives. Widows in the Canary Islands during the Old Regime" in the book "Los caminos de la Historia Moderna: present  future de la investigación " which has been directed by Ofelia Rey Castelao from the University of Santiago de Compostela and Francisco Cebreiro Ares from the Complutense University of Madrid.

This work is a set of works by young researchers in Modern History that is organized into six large sections in line with the most recent historiographical currents: political itineraries; private routes; commercial circuits; the ways of faith; the paths of culture and the journeys of the history of the genre.
