On December 15, 2023, the Seminar on Visions and Interpretations of Africa and Africanness in an interdisciplinary perspective will take place at the Institute of Canarian Studies of San Cristóbal de La Laguna in Tenerife.

This event is directed by Javier Luis Álvarez Santos, researcher member of IATEX, and also has with the collaboration of the Institute for its organization.

Programma 

 The University Institute of Textual Analysis and Applications of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the Faculty of Geography and History and the Department of Historical Sciences participate in the organization of the Lusophone Historical Studies Seminar.

This Seminar will take place on December 11 and 13 in room B12 of the Obelisco Campus and will be taught by Dr. Adolfo Cuento Rodríguez (Universidade Nova de Lisboa and the National University of Distance Education).

His interventions have the titles: “Portugal and Spain in Africa (1945-76): expectation, resistance and decolonization” and “The peoples colonized by Portugal and Spain in Africa (1945-76): awareness , organization and fight for decolonization.”

Predoctoral researcher and member of the Documentation, Heritage and Atlantic History Division of IATEXT, Nira Santana Montañez participates in the International Seminar "Gender, maritime culture and creation of the modern world" held at the Autonomous University of Madrid.

This seminar is part of the IBEROT@C Project Iberian maritime culture and oceanographic practices in the Mediterranean and the Atlantic: tacit knowledge, standardization, practical knowledge and geopolitics.
