Introduction to the Management of Digital Humanities Projects

The Institute in Text Analysis and Applications (IATEXT), in partnership with the Institut des Textes et Manuscrits Modernes (ITEM) and the École Nomal Supérieur (ENS) at the FrenchNational Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), has held the course Introduction to the Management of Digital Humanities Projects. Drawing up a Corpus: from Preparation to Dissemination through Digitalization, Structuring and Document Preservation.

The course was organized by researcher Verónica C. Trujillo-González from the Division of Linguistic Variation and Linguistic Change, and ITEM research engineer Richard Walter. It took place at the IATEXT facilities on January 19th and 20th, and it was given by Richard Walter through videoconference from Paris.

The American Oral History Association (OHA) has granted the Book of the Year Award 2016 to Memory, Subjectivities, and Representation: Approaches to Oral History in Latin America, Portugal, and Spain, which was coedited by Rina Benmayor, María Eugenia Cardenal de la Nuez (University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria) and Pilar Dominguez Prats, member of the Division of Documentation, Heritage and Atlantic History at the IATEXT.

IATEXT holds the 2016 AHLiST

Between November 17th and November 22nd, the Insititue in Text Analysis and Aplications (IATEXT) hosted the 2016 International Interdisciplinary Conference AHLiST, in which researchers form different American, European, African and Asian universities participated. 

The inauguration of the congress took place at Columbus House. Among its participants were the Acting Rector of the ULPGC, Trinidad Arcos Pereira, the General Director of Cultural Heritage at the Canarian Government, Miguel Ángel Blavijo Redondo, the Director of Columbus House, Elena Acosta Guerrero, and Manuel Ramírez Sánchez and Gregorio Rodriguez Herrera, both researchers at the IATEXT and co-directors of the 2016 AHLiST conference. 

Participación del IATEXT en el IV Coloquio Internacional de la Red de la Gobernanza de los Puertos Atlánticos

Tres investigadores integrantes de la División de Documentación, Patrimonio e Historia Atlántica del IATEXT participarán con respectivas comunicaciones en el IV Coloquio Internacional de la Red de la Gobernanza de los Puertos Atlánticos, cuya temática en esta edición es “Puertos nuevos, Puerto pioneros, siglos XIV-XXI”, y que se celebrará en Lorient, Francia, entre los días 6 y 8 de octubre, alojado por la Université Bretagne Sud.
