Academic and research activities at Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar
Daniel Castillo Hidalgo, postdoctoral researcher at the Division of Documentation, Heritage and Atlantic History at the IATEXT made a short stay at Dakar (2-16 October) where he developed teaching and research activities at the Department of History of the Cheikh Anta Diop University.
During his stay, Castillo presented two workshops in French ("Organization and preparation of MsC and PhD projects" and "Research Tools 2.0: databases and digital humanities"). These both sessions were made with postgraduate students.
Moreover, he participated in the production of a docu-film about the "History of the Port-city of Rufisque". These tasks were complemented with other research activities, notably related to a number of interviews with some members of the port community of Dakar and specific workfield at the National Archives of Senegal.
This stay aimed to strenght the institutional and academic linkages between our universities in order to enlarge the inter-university cooperation and the internationalization of our university.
