The words of political discourse: genealogy and permanence of meanings, lexical and ideological conflicts Like any discourse, political discourse is a statement intended to have a certain impact on its addressees; for this, the enunciator intentionally chooses his words, formulas and tone in order to be as effective as possible; he gets it more or less well and it's not just a matter of rhetoric.
In fact, the "words" or "formulas" resonate with the audience; many political declarations seek to shake the memory of recipients who react to certain lexical units or particular phrases: they are, at this time and in this context, significant references; recipients know what the proper meaning is.
