Research Internships

CARRY OUT YOUR INTERNSHIP AT IATEXT

Be part of the forefront of textual analysis and digital tools for the humanities

The University Institute for Textual Analysis and Applications (IATEXT) opens its doors to university students who wish to undertake external internships, both curricular and extracurricular. We offer a top-level research environment where you can apply your knowledge and acquire new skills by working on innovative projects that combine technology and the humanities.

If you are looking for an experience that will set you apart and prepare you for the professional challenges of the future, IATEXT is the place for you.

Why do your internship at IATEXT?

At IATEXT, you will not simply join a team, you will actively participate in the full lifecycle of real research projects. We offer:

Hands-on Practical Experience:
You will work closely with experienced researchers on national and international projects.

Professional Environment and Resources:
IATEXT provides you with the workspace and technical resources necessary to carry out your tasks under optimal conditions.

Expert Supervision and Structured Plan:
Each intern must be previously linked to an IATEXT researcher who will act as their supervisor. This supervisor will define, in line with the Institute’s research areas, the work plan and the specific tasks to be carried out.

Interdisciplinary Training:
You will learn to apply textual analysis and digital tools within the fields of humanities and social sciences (history, literature, linguistics, art, education, geography, translation, heritage, etc.).

Who are we looking for?

This internship programme is open to motivated students eager to learn.

What academic backgrounds?

We are looking for diverse profiles. While we have a strong affinity with degrees such as Computer Engineering, Data Science, History, Philology (Spanish, English), Translation, Geography, Education, and Psychology, we welcome students from any degree or master’s programme who believe their skills can contribute to our research areas.

From which universities?

The programme is open to students from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC), as well as from any other national or international university.

Mandatory requirement for external students:
There must be a valid educational cooperation agreement between the student’s home university and ULPGC. It is the student’s responsibility to check whether such an agreement exists or to complete the necessary procedures to establish one.
