International Seminar on "RHETORICAL TEACHING IN HUMANISM: FROM MANUALS TO PRACTICE IN THE CLASSROOM”

The University Institute of Textual Analysis and Applications, organizes the International Seminar  "LA RHETORICAL TEACHING IN HUMANISM: FROM MANUALS TO PRACTICE IN THE CLASSROOM” which will take place from October 26 to 29, 2022.

This International Seminar is convened by the The progymnasmata project in European Schools (XVI-XVII): from manuals to practice in the classroom (PID2019-103848GBI00), financed by the State R&D Plan of the Ministry of Science and Innovation of the Government of Spain and organized by the University Institute of Analysis and Textual Applications of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The Seminar aims to bring together both researchers who develop their work on translations, commentaries, exercises and authors who reused and rewrote the Greek progymnasmata in education, as well as scholars of the rhetorical tradition of the centuries during the 16th and 17th centuries. . Likewise, it aims to generate a space for scientific collaboration in which participants can share their research, in this area, as well as the results of this research in digital formats (databases, digital catalogs, search engines, digital editions, apps, etc.). etc).

Oral presentations will last 20 minutes and will be followed by 10 minutes of debate. Abstracts will be sent electronically to the email gregorio.rodriguez@ulpgc.es with the subject Communication to the International Seminar.

The deadline to submit proposals will be SEPTEMBER 15, 2022.
