The Doctor and member of the University Institute of Textual Analysis and Applications, Leonor Zozaya Montes has organized the II Open Theoretical-Practical Conferences to disseminate knowledge about paleography and the history of writing on September 29, 2023. 

The II Conference will be held throughout the day on September 29, 2023 at the Obelisco Campus of the ULPGC.  Venues: Assembly Hall of the Faculty of Educational Sciences, and Classroom 4 (floor 0) of the Agustín Millares Carlo building, of the Faculty of Geography and History. Both are on the Obelisco Campus of the ULPGC, Calle Pérez del Toro, 1, CP. 35004, LPGC, Spain.

The IATEXT is part of the CLARIAH-ES infrastructure, a consortium that brings together the two main research infrastructures in the Humanities and Social Sciences in Europe: CLARIN and DARIAH.

The objective of the CLARIAH-ES network is to promote the participation of Spanish researchers in the European infrastructures CLARIN and DARIAH in order to increase research projects, scientific production and improve national and international positioning in the areas of the Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences.

 On June 15 and 16, 2023, a meeting took place in Alicante with the objective of creating the CLARIAH-ES infrastructure that allowed Spain and its research centers to integrate in the European research infrastructures ERIC together with 20 other EU Member States.

The Doctor and member of the Atlantic History, Heritage and Documentation Division of the University Institute of Textual Analysis and Applications, Manuel Méndez Alonzo has recently published an article in the Regional and Border History Yearbook called «Enslave to settle, educate and evangelize: the theological and legal justification of Chichimec slavery on the northern border of Spanish America in the 16th century.”

The Project  of Digital Humanities of the University Institute of Textual Analysis and Applications,  'Lexical Americanisms in the Spanish and English languages ​​documented in texts about America (1650-1740): development of the AMERLEX database'  it is part of the eight research projects selected in the 2022 call for Knowledge Generation Projects, within the framework of the State Program to Promote Scientific-Technical Research and its Transfer, of the State Plan for Scientific, Technical and Innovation Research 2021-2023.
