On Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., the presentation of the ModeCan Project, Modernist Texts from the Canary Islands  will take place at the Tomás Morales House-Museum.

Modernist Texts of the Canary Islands (ModeCan) is a scalable search engine based on the complete works of Canarian authors Tomás Morales, Alonso Quesada and Saulo Torón. This new digital philological tool will allow new approaches and innovative results on the work of Tomás Morales, Alonso Quesada and Saulo Torón through the lexical relationships present in their works, as well as linguistic, grammatical and semantic studies in the works of these writers.

Last Wednesday, March 29, 2023, in the back of the Víctor Jara Theater, located in Vecindario, the X Education Show "Awaken Vocations" in which some members of IATEXT participated with workshops related to Digital Humanities to publicize the Institute among high school and high school students.

This Sample of Education, which  It has been held annually since 2010, except for the two years of the pandemic, it is an initiative organized by the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council, which aims to publicize the different professional opportunities that exist at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria so that future students can access it with as much information as possible.

The Latin-Arabic Research Group: texts and contexts of Greek, Latin and Arabic scientific knowledge of the University Institute of Medieval and Renaissance Studies of the University of La Laguna, directed by Maravillas Aguiar Aguilar, celebrates at the Institute of Canarian Studies, the “I International Seminar on Science and knowledge in the Atlantic: from the Iberian ports to the Canary Islands” on March 22, 23 and 24, 2023.

This seminar aims to analyze the relationships established between the Iberian ports and the Canary Islands after the conquest of the new world and the study of the Atlantic Ocean as the coming and going of loaded ships of men, illusions, science and knowledge.

Auto con loa, entremés and mojiganga, in the Classroom-Conference at the Seminário de Especialização em Estudos Espanhóis do Mestrado em Estudos de Cultura, Literatura e Línguas Modernas

This is a research and knowledge transfer activity to society, in which the Research Institute for Textual Analysis and Research is fully committed.
